The Armoury is a menswear brand that believes in design, craftsmanship and personal style. We are rooted in classic tailoring but with the modern man in mind.
We are passionate about what we sell, sourcing special items the world over as well as creating our own distinctive products with exceptional craftsmen and factories. The Armoury’s curated selection includes an extensive range of custom and bespoke offerings. Our stores in Hong Kong and New York regularly host outstanding tailors, shoemakers and other craftspeople for customers who want not just excellence, but also something unique.
Why Video?
So much of what we care about at the Armoury is only apparent when you can really see and wear the work of these great artisans. We realised that video helps make that gap a little smaller.
With the series Questions & Answers and What am I Wearing and Why?, the Armoury team talks you through what makes The Armoury products stand out.

What's On - An Aged Corduroy Suit and the Many Happenings at the Pedder Arcade This Week and Next
Have you ever thought of doing critique videos, of styling and overall fit, and so on..? I know it's a bit of a jump from your already superlative work, but I know I'd get a kick out of some friendly, but honest, clothing advice. Sort of a "reaction" to maybe celebs wearing some ill-fitting stuff. :D All love, take care!
I visited in May and the place looked amazing! Shoutout to Jan for helping me out and to the folks at the cigar lounge who were super nice too.
Hi Mark, What suit are you wearing here?
Mark, your hair is always so wonderful, can I ask what you tell your haircutter/your general styling tips?
Thank you. Honestly, I do very little. I forget to use conditioner most of the time. I use a basic wax from the convenience store called Gatsby (the grey one). I got lucky many years ago and found a good hairdresser in New York. Her name is Kiku-san, she works out of Bockerway on the Lower East Side. Somehow she just understands how my hair should look and I always like the result so I just let her do whatever she wants. Before her, I went through so many hairdressers and was never satisfied, they just didn't seem to understand. So my advice is keep trying people until you find the right one. I never found more expensive haircuts to be better than cheap ones, it was more important to find the right hairdresser. Also, as I got older, my hair got more manageable. It got a little softer and wavier whereas before it was much harder and difficult to style.
First
why silk sport coat is not shiny as expected.
Who would have thought there were so many different approaches to ironing? You're an artist! What brand of iron are you using, please?
What color shoes would you wear with the bone color chinos?
I just stumbled across this video/channel. What handkerschief is that, and how did you guys fold it? It looks so good!
😍😍😍😍😍
Would have been great to get a close-up of the suit fabric. Looked rather greyish on video. Love that King Seiko, but for under 2k, my pick would still be the Oris BCPD in 36mm 😁
Recently picked up a well maintained King Seiko 44-9990. Really happy to see them revisit these case styles. The grammar of design still holds up today.
It really is. Bold and original in a good way.
no belt?
No, side adjusters instead
Thats a gray suit
A King Seiko is a great complement to an Armoury look! Hopefully we'll see some content about it on this channel!
Love Seiko's King Seiko line! Thanks for the new vid, Mark. Enjoy the weekend!
Linen is THE go to fabric for the summer 👍
Does that mean you expand in Europe now? 😍
Always a pleasure to watch
The memories
Parker is NOT how Dunhill started. Dunhill was in business long before, and Parker was their brand to sell pipes that did not make their strickt quality controls. Also called seconds. But still fantastic pipes ! Host is sitting in front of 20000 ugly plaid jackets, and wears the same. HAHAHA. The plaid design reminds me of Army mattresses. LAAAARGE Plaid Jacket and Polo shirt ? Hmmmmmmmm
Excellent!!!! My 2 cents 1...add pocket square 2...dress shirt...short sleeve only 4 me..summer 3...mark ur suggestions of ties r superb..sub 2 bowties in my hands A..burgundy elephant motiff B..diamond pt..motiff circles 4..socks..novelty 5...peace
In my opinion for Linen the darker color shirts tend to feel more Fall/Winter so instead I go with Light Blue, Pink, Torquoise Green, etc. It's just my personal preference though. The only exception are my Charcoal Grey trousers which are Lightweight Wool. Nice job on the video.
Hi Mark! Nice outfit as usual; shirts are sublime… shirt tuck pointers provide are very thoughtful. I really do like the aesthetic of shirts cut this way too!
I’m not a fan of pockets on the shirt
Given your expertise in fabric and fabrication, how well-equipped are you to advise on choosing bedding sheets? What do you personally buy?
Fantastic outfits, every one. Loved the casual end of the options too
Awesome! Thanks for answering my question about The Untucking! Will try a bigger size! 👍
I’m really considering the dark blue 349. My watch size is 17cm and I have thin wrists. That dark blue is stunning
Great advice on shirt tucking. Also, it is more comfortable tucked in with some slack for freedom of movement.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Would cotton knitted polo and knitted t shirt look good in lightweight or is it the same as suit?
what size are you wearing for the Drake's shirt?
M or 15.5"
0:45 you also “bought” Drake’s shirts? Girl, really? You own the damn company !!
LMAOOO
Ya, I mentioned this before on my IG, I will copy & paste the response: Actually, one of the most annoying things higher-ups can do is just walk off with items from the store/stock. It is absolutely infuriating for the backoffice teams and ends up creating chaos. So ... the best way for everyone to keep tabs on what I'm asking for to wear is for me to request it from the online store and as a result it gets delivered to me in HK as a normal online order. I still get a kick out of receiving items the same way a customer would with all the nice touches the packaging provides.
1:20 - that's a turmeric colored shirt
And the one after that, Saffron.
i like drake's!🎉🎉
Any thoughts about a black linen-shirt?
Good morning..greetings from ny...black linen shirt....NOOOOOO😂😂😅😊😊😊!!!!!enjoy ur weekend..peace
Black linen suit- yes. Shirts? No
With an all black outfit it can be very stylish!
I have no issue with it, I think I'd probably get a bit more use out of a dark navy instead, though. Dark shirts sadly have a bit of a Night at the Roxbury Stigma attached to them but worn well, they can be nice, too. I think people also get turned off by the fact that they inevitably fade but if you can accept that, they are a nice addition to a wardrobe.
Drake's colour selection is on point
Hello mark, any thoughts about drakes pricing for tailoring. Being even more expensive than Ring Jacket?
Mark is a Co-owner of Drake’s. JFYI
It's a good question ... firstly, Drake's is a decent size company so I don't set the pricing, the commercial team does. Typically (and this would be typical for any commercial enterprise) the price would be taking into account: 1. Making enough money to cover costs (this includes production itself, operating costs such as logistics, staffing, website, backoffice, errors in production, product development and marketing expenses) , 2. Where competitors pricing is set. Too low and you might be leaving money on the table. Too high and you risk alienating customers. At the end of the day, we all want to make some money. 3. Growing the business. Today's earnings need to take into account the future costs of hiring new, more specialized staff, building out new stores, creating new capabilities for the business, etc. As for Drake's in relation to Ring Jacket, they are quite different companies operating in very different countries. Japan is at a historic low in terms of exchange rate and so everything seems very cheap right now. If you like Ring Jacket's style and make, by all means go for it, it's a wonderful product as well.
Apart from those great watches, how have you done so well with your shirt collar style? To me it looks like the collar has been glued to the shirt itself or something, if you know what I mean. How did you make up that collar style with the tie, please? Very neat and elegant.
I thoroughly enjoyed the interview.
Great vid, it’d be great if you could do the same for a summer wardrobe also
Hi Mark, Love the new jacket. Give the weight of the Mockleno fabric, what is your take on the rule some guys adhere to where the trouser weight must be heavier than the jacket fabric weight? Thanks!
I don’t mean to be vulgar but what sort of price are we talking for those glasses? We must surely be talking tens of thousands…?
Wow, those brown Gloucester wingtips are sweet !
it's been a while since i have been to the channel. i like the jacket from a distance, not a fan of the colours up close. nice combinations too!
Great video as always, and beautiful jacket. Would be great to see a video on ties appropriate for sport jackets v ties appropriate for suits. I was interested to see Mark suggest what look like two printed ties with a sport jacket. I typically think of printed patterns as being more for suits, whereas twill stripes or grenadines (or non-silk ties) are better for sport jackets. But the exception to that rule being paisley, which I tend to think work marginally better for sport jackets. And maybe these ties are an exception as well, since they’re more casual printed patterns. Anyway, I’d be interested to hear how Mark thinks about this question. Thanks again!
Yes, good eye, I suggested two printed ties. I chose them for the colour and also the scale and spacing of the motif. I think rather than printed vs woven patterns are only part of the story. VERY generally speaking: you are more likely to find a suit in a smooth, fine fabric than a sport jacket hence I prefer finely and tightly patterned printed ties for a fine fabric suit and I wouldn't necessarily use them with a sport coat. Conversely, Sport coats are more often textured fabrics that lend themselves better to larger printed motifs (and paisleys). Honestly, these are very, very general rules and of course if you feel like it's working for you then don't let the opinion of a man on the internet dismay you. You have parents for that.
These are beautifully complemented palettes.
Is that fabric available for a outerwear?
Unfortunately we used it all up for this run of jackets. As far as I know, it's not available as a cut length.
white pants? idk about that
Good morning...go 4 it..have fun with color......
